Danielle Clement produces a handful of Italian-inspired wines in the Bavarian-themed down of Leavenworth, Wash., and this select barrel of Sangiovese is part of her winemaker select program. It reveals aromas and flavors of classic Bing cherry, strawberry, sweet herbs and forest floor, and it goes down among the more delicious examples of Sangiovese in Washington. As a result, it received a double gold medal and best of class — praise similar to her 2013 Dolcetto — at the 2017 Wenatchee Wine Awards.
