Walla Walla attorney Michael Rasch jumped into the wine industry in 2007, which included going through Walla Walla Community College’s wine program and acquiring a 1998 planting known as Panoramic Vineyard. He used this blend of Merlot (55%), Cabernet Sauvignon (40%) and Cabernet Franc from his vines to score his first Platinum. It’s a well-structured and balanced offering of dark black fruit including crème brûlée, blueberry muffin and sage. Qualifying award: Seattle Wine Awards (double gold)
