Few in the British Columbia wine industry offer as many different vineyard-designated bottlings as this fascinating Okanagan Falls producer, and Keira LeFranc’s first effort with this certified sustainable site near Keremeos definitely deserves an encore. The certified somm used concrete, stainless steel and oak during fermentation, and the late October harvest allowed for that fruit to prevail. White peach, dried apricot and lime aromas are realized on the palate and joined by dried pineapple. Great weight on the midpalate is followed by slate and a food-friendly finish of peach pit. Alas, Sauvignon Blanc was among those varieties that didn’t fare well in the devastating freeze across the Okanagan Valley in late December 2022. Suggested food pairings include fish and chips, asparagus quiche, fried dim sum and Mexican.
