The pick was made Oct. 1 at 25.8 Brix, and she poured the juice into an oak program of new French and two-year-old Hungarian barrels, which creates dark aromas of black cherry, black pepper and toast. That theme continues with a bold entry and lengthy flavors of dark plum, cherry and dark chocolate. This earned a gold medal at the 2014 Walla Walla Valley Wine Competition.
