Ross Andrew Winery 2011 Lachini Vineyard Pinot Noir, Willamette Valley, $65
The Lachini family opened a tasting room in Woodinville, Wash., in the summer of 2011, and it made a small lot of Pinot Noir from its Chehalem Mountains vineyard available to Woodinville vintner Ross Mickel. This mature Pinot Noir from a cooler vintage opens with aromas of Marionberry, blueberry and cherry fruit leather and follows with flavors of red currant and cherry, backed by sandy tannins, raspberry acidity and a touch of slate. These wines are available in downtown Walla Walla at the Browne Family Vineyards and Associated Vintners tasting room.
