Fort Walla Walla Cellars 2008 Syrah, Walla Walla Valley
Great Northwest Invitational Wine Competition award: Gold medal
Winemakers Cliff Kontos and Jim Moyer used grapes from famed Pepper Bridge Vineyard and blended in just a touch of Merlot to round out this superb Syrah. Graphite, blackberry, plum, earth and cured meat aromas greet the taster, followed in the mouth by blackberry and blueberry fruit, dark chocolate, black pepper and a pleasant nip of tannin in the finish.
